RAP and RAS are increasingly used in pavement recycling, driving demand for asphalt extraction testing equipment. Efficient separation of reclaimed materials into bitumen, mineral filler, and aggregates is essential for performance evaluation.

Asphalt extraction testing primarily uses trichloroethylene soaking and cleaning to separate asphalt from aggregates. Over the years, three generations of equipment have been developed:

  • 1st Gen: Centrifugal Extractor – Based on JTG E20-2011 T0722, but discontinued due to high solvent consumption and strong odor.

  • 2nd Gen: Fully Automatic Extractor – Uses solvent soaking, vibration screening, centrifugation, and distillation recovery, reducing solvent usage but still causing odor leakage and wet aggregates.

  • 3rd Gen: Fully Sealed Analyzer – Developed in Germany, featuring heated soaking, rotation, and ultrasonic processing, solving odor issues but prone to clogging and high maintenance costs.

To address these challenges, the 4th Gen Asphalt Mixture Extraction Analyzer combines the simplicity of 2nd-gen machines with the sealed, low-noise, automated control of 3rd-gen models, offering enhanced efficiency and reliability.

The 4th-generation asphalt extraction analyzer introduces key improvements:

  • Fully sealed cleaning chamber with a specialized mesh and heating/drying function, eliminating trichloroethylene odor leakage while ensuring dry, screened aggregates post-extraction.

  • Optimized pipeline design with direct connection and vibration function, preventing clogging issues common in complex material cleaning.

  • Automated software control with a user-friendly interface, allowing customizable process settings based on material differences and enabling efficient, repeatable testing.
